The Torch Bearers website was founded in November 2008.
It was initially a blog which grew by viewership and feedback from our viewers. It was eventually transitioned into a website having an editorial and web support team (to write, edit and encourage guest writers from around the world to send across articles to spread the message of hope, love and peace by their literary works.)
In today's world, there are thousands of people making a difference to humanity, by their art and literary works. Hundreds of such articles do get lost in the web or do get missed out being read by the public which would surely have made a difference to society.
The Torch Bearers vision is to become a harvest, a reservoir of articles written by members and guest writers on all positive aspects of life and the world around us.
The members of the blog or former members or guest writers are individuals who have at some point in their life or childhood received a lot of grace and kindness from God, families, friends or well-wishers around them which has molded their personalities, sowing a seed to eventually do the same to society, shown by their fruit of good works. Our members really do not have the time to write every week or all months in a year but every article is well planned for at least 10 days to three weeks in advance and goes to the editorial team before it is published in our blog.
In the past we were fortunate to have lovely member contributions from member writers and guest writers including - A Marine Corp from Santa Clara - to promote peace in Iraq, A Counselor of a Family Welfare Center in Arkansas- on strengthening relationships for families , A nurse from Santa Clara on her travel visits in Africa- bringing into notice the rare beauty of two small countries in the continent, a missionary from Bangalore who travels frequently around the world spreading the message of living and loving, a youngster on his vocation passion for planes and his journey on becoming a pilot, An article for the love of horses - by Lynn Baber (a writer and breeder of horses), A pastor spreading the message of Christmas, an outreach for Haiti relief …
Our blog is not only about North America, India, Africa, Europe, China or any other country but our blog is a global blog with members itself stretching across the globe.
We will continue to post articles and encourage our viewers and members by our positive literary works. We also look forward to your comments and valuable feedback.
